The Sensory Support Service is carrying out face to face visits as required both in educational settings and in children and young people’s homes. Due to the current situation with COVID19; the Sensory Support Service is continuing to provide a blended model so some support, liaison or attendance of meetings will be provided remotely. Equally, if our members of staff or the children and young people we support need to self-isolate, we will provide remote support during the isolation period.
Risk assessments have been carried out, members of staff will check with each setting their COVID procedures before they visit, use PPE appropriate for the activities carried out and adhere to strict hygiene procedures.
Our early years’ groups have re-started for a small number of children only to minimise contact.
We continue providing online training for teaching assistants and cerebral vision impairment training.
